John Boecklin
Drummer - Heavy metal

Bands: DevilDriver

Drumsticks: Vic Firth

John Boecklin was the beast behind the beat for the band DevilDriver (2002–2014) - a band that prides themselves on "working harder and rocking harder" than the rest. Since first forming in 2003, the Santa Barbara metal quintet has stuck resolutely to this mission, even though it’s often meant traveling a rougher, less glamorous road than most musicians would prefer to endure.

Rather than cashing in on the popularity of his previous successes, frontman Dez Fafara insisted from the get-go that DevilDriver should not only forge their own unique sound, but should also start at the proverbial bottom of the bill and work their way up through endless touring, earning the music world’s respect one fan at a time.

John has a long history with the guys in the band. In fact, at just fifteen, John was playing in bands around his native Massachusetts with two of the current members of DevilDriver. On October 28, 2014, Dez Fafara announced that drummer John Boecklin and guitarist Jeff Kendrick left the band.

John is uses the Vic Firth 5B Black and Victape as his weapons of choice.
